Grandma Sue at about age 67It was Mom's 80th birthday yesterday so I would like to write a little about her. She shares the same birthday with Heston, Mindee and Alan's little boy. Mom was born in Parowan, Utah on March 20, 1930. She weighed in at 9 lbs. and was delivered by her uncle Dr. Burton. Mom came from a loving home and she always knew that her dad loved her mom. She said she didn't know what she would have done without her Grandpa Banks because he is the reason she gained a testimony of Jesus Christ. He always made sure they went to church and to stake conference. Mom loved music. She started playing the clarinet in the 7th grade and then she started playing the french horn which she loved. She talked about that many times. Mom was always playing music when we grew up. She liked Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves, the Boston Pops and Big Band music. She was the world's best cook and made yummy chicken and noodles and french pastry. There was nothing she cooked that didn't taste like it came from a chef's kitchen. My parents were very affectionate with each other and I loved it when they kissed. Mom married William Garth Baldwin on November 2o, 1946. I have a history that mom wrote and was typed up just before she died. If any of the grandkids want a copy of it, I would be glad to share it.
I will continue with more information about Mom at a later date. She was a very kind loving mother and always went without stuff so that us kids could have nice things. She always made sure we had pretty clothes to wear and pretty dresses to wear to the dances. She was always nice to the underdog. I remember her making really pretty plates of popcorn balls to deliver to special neighbors at Christmas time. Her honey popcorn balls were the best.

Why don't you put her history on here!!! That would be a great idea! Love your guts!
I showed the picture of Grandma when she was 19 and he thought it was my mom, Carol Ann. I told my mom I sure miss grandma and I wish I would have paid more attention to how she cooked and sewed. I am making a quilt and it has made me really appreciate all of the patience, hard work, and love grandma put in each of her quilts she made for the grandkids.
