My Cowboy

This is my sweetheart, Dude Brindley. He was born July 30, 1941 in Richfield, UT. He was the best husband and father anyone could ever ask for. We were married November 25, 1972 and sealed in the Provo, UT temple March 8, 1975. He was working for Lyman Truck Line when we first met. We made our first home in Enoch, Ut and have lived here ever since. He worked for IML Freight Lines for 18 years and 18 years for Consolidated Freightways until he died on September 14, 2000. He was the terminal manager and was the hardest worker you could imagine. We had six beautiful children, Ryan, Kami, Sundee, Brett, Cindee and Mindee and Mont and Marleen who Dude brought into our marriage. We lived a happy wonderful life filled with love and happiness until he died suddently of a stroke. We all love and miss him so much. He loved to hunt and camp. He even blazed his own trail and made a great deer camp in the bottom of an old wash at John's Valley. He was always the life of the party and could get the best of anyone. He loved his children. He had a great memory. He could remember a book he read or a movie he saw ten years earlier, long after anyone else could remember it ever even happened. He had a beautiful singing voice and was not afraid to use it. One song he used to sing was "Fraulein." He was a faithful home teacher and had Billby Heaton as a partner for many years. He served faithfully in the Bishopric with Boyd Fife and was well liked by the youth because he could relate to them. He loved sports, especially basketball and was very supportive of anything his kids participated in. He could cook a mean batch of fried potatoes and hotdogs and once made them for lunch and then again for dinner because we all thought they tasted so good. He was kind of a little bragger and thought his family was the best. He made us all feel good and important and loved. He liked to bring home a different car to try out every weekend and we all rolled our eyes and snickered a bit when he once brought home a black Cadillac. Preston thought it was the Mafia driving up to his house. Dude was a unique person and one of a kind. He worked very hard for his family to provide for their wants and needs. He spoiled us all. He loved the little grandbabies as they came along and sent the rest of them down from heaven for us as he got to meet them before we did. I wish the grandkids could have gotten to know him and what a genuine wonderful grandpa he was. We all miss his love and influence and especially his advice whether it was something we were seeking or not. He was a protector and we recall many nights him saying "Did you hear that" and then he would turn on all of the lights in the house at 3: A.M. or go shine a flashlight in the sleeping kids eyes and ask them if they had heard anything which they usually hadn't. We love and appreciate him for protecting us always and feel his love and protecting influence on us now as we try to make our way through this life without him.

Very nice post! I am going to add this to my Memories of Dad file! It made me laugh remembering the many cars he brought home to test drive. He was always a big dreamer and hard worker! We are very lucky to have you both as our parents!

I sure had fun sewing and visiting with you today! We will have to do it again some time.
